In Navajo teaching, the animal gives itself up.
It isn’t taken. It’s given. The deer that steps out of the timber at last light is not a prize you won. It is a life offered so that yours continues. That one idea changes everything about the way you walk in.
You don’t go out to conquer anything. You go out to receive something, and you carry yourself like someone who knows the difference.
Giving thanks
So the hunter goes out in a good way.

Respect is given to the animal before the shot, in the quiet after it, and in every part that gets used. The thanks isn’t a formality at the end. It’s the whole posture of the hunt: you were handed something, and you act like it.

There is much respect in the hunt.
The hunt is how the freezer gets filled and how the family gets fed. It is also how the young learn patience, gratitude, and their place in the country they come from. Done in a good way, it isn’t a trophy. It’s a relationship: between the animal that gives, the hunter who receives, and the land that holds them both.
That is why we put it on clothing. Not to decorate the hunt. To carry the respect out of the timber and into everyday life, where someone will ask about it and you get to tell them.

Every piece in this drop is made to order, so nothing is overproduced and nothing goes to waste. That is the teaching in practice, right down to how it’s made. Three ways to wear it:

The bow is where the gift is received. It’s our mark, and on this piece it sits small on the chest, the way it should: not a headline, a reminder. Heavyweight 12.1 oz cotton, khaki body, green camo raglan sleeves and hood.

The layer you pull on in the dark, wear all day in the timber, and still have on when the fire’s going and the meat’s hanging. Khaki body, green camo raglan sleeves and hood, cut in a regular loose unisex fit.

The Buck and the Doe
Two animals, one teaching. The buck is the one you wait whole seasons for. The doe is the one that actually feeds the family and carries the herd into next year. Neither is a lesser hunt, and both are owed the same thanks. One each, and the pair tells the whole story.
Buck & Doe sweatshirts · his & hers
Stitched, not printed.
The sweatshirts are embroidered on heavy 10.3 oz organic cotton with a soft brushed interior and an oversized fit. Made for the cold mornings before shooting light and the long evenings after, when the work’s done and the thanks have been said. The thread holds up as long as the memory does.
The tees carry the same two animals on a thick, garment-dyed heavyweight cotton that only gets better with wear.
The buck and the doe, like every design in this drop, were drawn and designed by Tori Horton, a member of the Navajo Nation.

We are Native owned, Diné founded. Every design we make brings light to a Native teaching so it isn’t forgotten. This one is ours: the animal gives itself up, the hunter goes out in a good way, and there is much respect in the hunt.
